What Dreams May Come To Light

Amoroth lied in bed, tossing and turning violently, as the memory of the day everyone he knew as a child died. he watched as his father turned into a zombie, and maul his mother. her screams piercing his ears, as his father's teeth sank into her arm.

Amoroth shot up breathing heavily, as sweat poured off him. he looked over at his alarm clock. it read 3:15 AM.
"Shit... Three hours... Now i won't be able to go back to sleep..." he said to no in particular. he slowly got out of bed and got dressed in his normal attire, which consisted of blue jeans, a black T-shirt, and a Black leather jacket. "This is the 20th time I've woken up from that dream. I've gotta talk to someone..." he said to himself as he opened his door and out into the hall way.

Despite Being 3 am, the place was still busy. Vampiri Maids were darting to and fro, doing their assigned duties, Rose looking flustered as usual. Poor woman works to much. probably shouldn't trouble her with my problems right now. he thought as he made his way downstairs to the barracks/bar.

"AND THAT'S WHEN THE FUCKER CHUCKED MY BED INTO THE LAKE!!" Feng Mei's voice roared out followed by a similar roar of laughter. Soldiers Alexia's front lines men were having a drink with Feng Mei. the Dragon Knight lifted her cup as a welcoming to Amoroth and continued her story to the men.

"Feng Mei you're too load I can hear you from the library. Why are you still up?" Abigail asked appearing from behind The Dragon Knight wrapping her arms around her neck and leaning on her.

"Oi OI it's fine fine I'm just entertaining the men here, at the end of the world it's good to have some funny stories to tell eh?" Feng Mei replied happily.

"Fine just try and keep it down to a dull roar I'm still experimenting on that corpse Youanna brought back it keeps reviving I made need you to come help soon okay love~" Abigail said she walked out and saw Amoroth entering. "Oh Hello Amoroth, you don't look too well." She said, smiling in a friendly manner.

Amoroth looked at the spell knight and smiled weakly "I've been better... just haven't been sleeping well." he replied before patting her head in a friendly manner. "Any progress with the Dilon Vahdin?" he asked.

Abigail gave him a confused look as he said those two words. "Mind repeating that last part.... in English."

"sorry, Dead woman. Like i said, I've been better... sometime my native tongue slips. haven't had a good night's rest i three weeks, and my sleepiness is pissing rose off a tad bit." he replied as he leaned against a wall. Abigale could clearly see bags under his eyes.

"I thought a drink or two would help me out a bit. hell I'll buy you one"

Abigial shrugged smiling leading Amoroth over to the bar.

"I shouldn't drink but I can get something non-alcoholic if you don't mind." She said deciding she had time enough to have a drink first. "So what do you mean by dead woman?" She asked, "Are you referring to something specific?"

"The one that won't stay dead..." he replied as he walked into the bar with her in tow.

"Oh that thing... yeah it's been problematic..."

"I bet... i could always chop her into tiny bits and feed her to Selena" he replied.

"It's not a her" Abigial insisted thinking back to the corpse. Amoroth shrugged then sat down at the counter and pulled out a few bills and tapped the counter twice. the barkeep walked up and nodded.

"Still not sleeping Amo?" he asked as he washed a beer mug.

"You guessed it" Amoroth replied with a yawn.

"So what'll it be?" the bartender asked as he set the mug down.

"I'll have a Vampiri Amber, and give Abigale an O'Douls" he said before pushing the bills forward. "It Gig night?" he asked as the bartender fished out a bottle of Non-Alcoholic beer, and a frosty mug.

"Yeah... feel like playin that piano, may help ya out, and i'll take the price of your drinks off." he replied as he filled the mug with a dark redish Amber beer.

"After the drink maybe..." he replied as the bartender set the drinks on the counter.

Abigail took her drink and sipped at it tentatively she sighed and place her drink down resting her head in her hands.

"It seems like lack of sleep is rampant among Alexia's finest." She said solemnly. "You first?" she asked nudging him on. Amoroth thought about it for a second a talk might do him some good and he'd have plenty of time for a few quips here and there while they drank why not give it a go?

"I guess it wouldn't hurt..." He replied mulling over what it was he wanted to say.

"I've been having night terrors for the last twenty or so days. it's the same one each time." he began before taking a drink of his beer. "It's the day, when the infected killed everyone in the settlement. i watched in horror as my parents were killed and infected. only, i see it in the third person." he continued as he slowly drank his beer. "I've been only getting three hours of sleep, and that's kinda hard to run on, especially when you have to play with Selena. How bout you?" he asked, he then downed the rest of his brew and set the mug back on the counter.

"It's that Damn corpse. Magic don't touch it, it shrugs of anything laser or light based bullets only keep it down for so long it grew back it's limbs once and almost cut open Dain." She sighed. "It's almost as if it's made out of nightmares the only thing that seems to keep it down with any sort of permanence is fire. The last time it revived I burnt off it's limbs and they haven't come back so far. The testing is slow and being near that thing is...well I've never been scared of anything in my life. That thing, scares me it is just wrong it doesn't belong, it's too strong too fast it's movements are unnatural and freaky and I hate working on it." She said staring at her Mug.

"Sounds rough." Amoroth commented quietly.

"I've never been scared in my life..." Abigail muttered, she took a big gulp of her drink then sighing she waver her hand over it changing it to a creamy drink which she then began to chug. "I think the longer I stay near that the more scared and depressed I get...I'm gonna speed everything up and burn it. to cinders then I'll burn the cinders." Abigail said looking angry, she squeezed her glass. "I'm ranting though, you been having Night terrors of that event? You're traumatized it seems that you just pushed it away instead of actually dealing with it, it happens. You need to work it out I suggest talking to others you trust about it the experience will probably be helpful." She said lying her head on her arms.

"I was thinking about going to the old stronghold... don't know what i'll find. Probably some shambling corpses, and run down structures... but who know." he replied. he then took swig of his amber and looked at the contents. "If ya want, i can chop the thing up into little bits, burn them, chop'em up some more, burn them again, and put them in a box, then put that box in another box, and then smash it with a hammer! It's so perfect it has to work!" he said in his most psychopathic tone, before smiling warmly.

"Erm... i'm not sure how to react... should i be scared or grateful?" she asked confused of how amoroth offered to help.

Amoroth finished his beer and got up. "Hold that thought. Barkeep warm up the mic."

"You got it Amo" he replied as he got up from the bar and made his way over to the stage. he began hooking up wires to ports and flipping switches.

Amoroth made his way over to the stage and got on the Piano. a couple tables started to cheer as he sat down and popped his knuckles. he then started to play. it was jazzy at first, and when it stopped, he placed a harmonica in his mouth and began to play. after a few seconds, that's when the music really began.

Abigail had gotten up at this point going back to her lab waving as she went she had spent too much time hanging around the bar which was unlike her in almost every way imaginable. This distracted her as she went back that's why she didn't see anything coming, The blade slashed down at her and cut the front of her pajamas. Abigail made a grumbling sound almost a low growl.

"I am sick of your shit burning you no-" She saw the table where she kept the corpse it was still there thrashing about. This one was new. "NIDAWI, KARMEN, DAIN! INTRUDER!" She shouted ducking under the table throwing a magical fire ball at it. The creature cut the attack in half and lowered itself it's bladed arms bending in impossible ways. "Magic doesn't work on it fuck just like the other one." She said ducking away from it's arm blade kicking it in the face. It moved towards her when it was suddenly pulled back thrown against the wall by Dain and Karmen who looked injured. Then it burst into flames Nidawi grinning as she kept her high powered light focused on it.

"Mistress Abigail we have discerned their weakness, Natural Fire, High powered light or Sunlight, Guns, blades and clubs." The fairy said licking her lips poking the carcass. "Although that doesn't change that I've never seen these things before nor have I ever killed one until just now."

"That's fine just tell Alexia of our findings and have all our people prepared to fight these things. You two alright?" She asked the demons.

"Yes Mistress it just caught Dain and I by surprise. Stronger than it looks Overpowering it took both of us." She said patting her Oni partner on the shoulder as he cracked his neck.

"Alright next time we get something like this get Feng Mei the extra security would be nice." She muttered taking the light from Nidawi and focusing it on the corpse on the table. "Good ridden."


"Chief? Are you okay?" One of the maids asked Rose, she sighed she wasn't but that would just worry her. Nothing productive would come of her showing weakness.

"Yes I'm fine is everything under control?" She asked going straight to business.

"No, Feng Mei informed me that it is time for your break and I should tell you to meet her at the bar." The maid said giving a curtsy. Rose smiled and nodded informing the girl she was free to go.

"I guess I could use a break not sure what that girl has planned..." She told her self as she walked down toward the bar, along the way passing a depressed looking Abigail heading towards her lab, she left her alone she looked troubled enough. when she got there she entered just as Amoroth finished his song, She personally didn't enjoy the sound of them all singing but she wasn't about to ruin their fun she wasn't working right now anyways. "Hello." She said politely acknowledging Feng Mei and Amoroth. Feng Mei was drunk and obnoxious singing and slamming her cup around Rose decided not to get too close Amoroth didn't look to happy Rose frowned at this but didn't try anything he'd probably come to her if he wanted her to know. She sat down and got herself a glass of hot tea mostly for her nerves. "Today has been rather dreadful."

"you think..." amoroth yawned as he got off the stage for a moment to get another drink. "I've been plagued with night terrors for the last twenty days... and it's interfering with my work if you noticed"

"I thought you were just being lethargic and lazy." rose replied before receiving her tea.

"So how has this day been dreadful?" he asked as the Vampiri bartender brought him another lager. he happily took the beer and drained 1/4 of it before setting it down.

"Girl, you jushhht need ta chill... *hic*" Mei said to Rose as she downed another shot. "Hey Amo... Shings us another song..." she slurred.

"Alright one more song."" he replied before getting up from his seat and made his way to the stage. "This one I learned from Inu."

Rose shook her head, obviously this song was the opposite how Amoroth felt catchy though she sipped her tea and waited patiently for MAoroth to finish his song she wasn't in the mood for much else and Feng Mei was being annoying again.

"Feng Mei if you keep acting like that I'll have to stop cleaning your room." Rose teased.

"Aww no fair! You know I don't have time to do it myself." Feng Mei replied the slur leaving her voice. "You're no fun."

"I have my own kind of fun." She smiled.

"Which consists of throwing knives at me, and rearranging my internal organs" Amoroth replied as he sat back down at the table. "So, what's been bothering you?" he asked the maid as he reclined back in his seat. the barkeep came up and placed another beer in front of him and nodded.

"Last Freebie for the night Amo..." he said before walking off.

Amoroth gave a mock salute and indulged. he set the beer back down on the table and took a breath. "So, what's been goin on?"

"Too much work, it doesn't end! I'm shafted back and forth between jobs, fighting nightmares of monsters, dealing with the aftermaths of missions. It gets worse but I'd rather not talk about that." Rose said. Feng Mei had gone off lifting soldiers with her fingers causing a bit of commotion on her side of the bar. "I mean I knew I was in for hard work when I accepted the job of Chief Maid, but I'm doing the work of the entire force and it's wearing down on me." She said rubbing her eyes stifling back a yawn. Amoroth nodded he could see it the other maids did do their jobs but other than cleaning he never saw them doing much else Rose was probably stuck with everything else. She also likely refused help thinking it was her responsibility she works herself too hard, and because of that is hard on other. He shrugged.

"Why not delegate?" He asked simply stretching a bit.

"Because With everything that's going on I can't trust the employees to not be spies and I can't in good conscious put my battle forces on the job." She sighed finishing off her drink. "But enough about me you dodge my last question pretty well. You've been having night terrors what about?"

"My childhood the last night I saw my parents to be frank." Amoroth said waving at Frank as he walked by the man looking drunk off his ass. Rose raised an eyebrow how did he?- never mind. I've thought of a way to deal with it. I'm heading back to the stronghold. He added swirling his drink around in his cup.

"You taking anyone with you? these lands have gotten a lot more dangerous as of late." Rose said.

"I hadn't thought of that just yet." He said wondering who if anyone he wanted to accompany him on this 'soul searching' journey.

"I thought about including mei, but she's guarding the gate all the time. perhaps i can take you along, if you're not too busy." he replied. he then raised his beer to his lips and downed it in under 2 seconds. "Plus, you could use some time off. and killing infected is a great way of relieving stress."

"I'm not sure if i could go. my duties and all-" she began but was interrupted by Amoroth clearing his throat.

"Trust me, you need to take a bit of time off. have one of your subordinates take over for a while"

(not really sure how this would work out exactly, but I imagine it somthing like this...Feel free to correct it, I dont really know Alexia's security nor herself that well. I tried to make her part that i typed short. There are mostly Woman working for Alexia the only real thing I can think of is that a S.M.A.R.T. squad member would bring Benny in)

At this time a man was brought before Alexia, He was moderatly tall, with black hair and glowing orange eyes. He wore the outfit of a butler, comepletly unscathed and untouched. The man bowed.

"Ma'am this guy says hes from Japan." The Woman who brought him told Alexia. She was wearing heavy armor and had her gun in a relaxed grip pointed at the man's head.
"Japan?" Alexia asked.
"Yes ma'am, My name is Benjamen Park, and I am from Japan. Currently I am a messenger for the head of the reconstruction project, being released from my butler duties at the moment." Benjamen replied still bowing.
"How did you get to America Benjamen?" Alexia asked with a smile, She couldnt tell if the man was lying or not, most of the time Japanese did their diplomacy with the other races with large guns, so this man standing before her could be lying.
"I ran" Benjamen replied.

Rose thought about it for a second and nodded suddenly no longer in her Work outfit. Outfitted in a full SMART suit (They look like something out of the Metal Gear universe.) the equipment was mostly blades. Daggers, knives, even two short swords. Rose Smiled and took Amoroth's hand pulling him to his feet.

"Well I'm ready...but I was thinking while I was getting ready...you have a friend she seems really close to you, Sarah I think her name was. You need people you can trust right? I think you should ask her to come as well." She said stretching her arms and passing Feng Mei a note. "Whatever you decide I'm with you on this okay?"

"Right." Amoroth said nodding in response.

"sound idea. let me head to the armory, and we'll grab her afterwards.... Wait, you think she's really close to me?" he asked as he turned to make his way out the bar.

"I think? no... I know she's close to you." Rose replied before following him.

"Well I'd like her to be, but... ah never mind." he replied. "you know, this is a great opportunity to test the new armor i designed for my new unit."

"wait, what new unit?" she asked

"Answer a few questions for me." Alexia said after a while getting a nod from Benjamen "I need You to answer me truthfully, but I want you to tell me I am wrong. I have obtained information concerning a new 'Cyber-Initiative' Weapons and cybernetic enhancements Stolen by Vampires." Benjamen gave a slow nod that did happen the materials were gathered outside the walls and when being moved to the bridge outpost were raided. Alexia shook her head sighing, this did not bode well. "So tell me You're not human are you? No human get's from Japan to California by running."

"True..." He said starting.



"Well the other Knights had their own Units I thought of making my own. Makes me feel special and give Alexia a new toy to add to her arsenal. Win-win if you ask me. He said grinning Rose blinked a few times.

"Okay I think I get it. Well if you got it grab it. I am a bit anxious to get going."

"Right, right, one second."

"Let me get Sarah and we should be good to go" he added. seconds later, shadows began to envelope him and two dark copies of him formed. both then went off in different directions. "That should do it"

"You know, if you had used that ability with your work, thing would get done a lot faster." rose mentioned as they made their way to the armory.

"yeah, tried that... broke a lot of shit. you see theirs a downside of making clones of myself. every clone i make, my abilities are cut by 1/4. and each clone i make then quarters my power by a quarter weakening me, plus it takes a severe amount of concentration." he explained as they rounded a hallway.


there was a knock on Sarah's door as the shadow waited.

"Come in!" she called. The door opened to reveal the clone entering.

"Hey, Rose and I are goin off to do something crazy. wanna come along?" it asked as it stood there.

"Sounds like fun, i really could use a bit of exercise... and i'm bored" she replied to the shadow depicted as amoroth.

"I'll be waiting in the armory, and i have a favor to ask you"

"Shoot..." she replied nonchalantly as she leaned up against the door frame.

"I had a prototype armor made, and i need it tested. it'll give protection from sun light and should enable you to fly" it replied still standing there.

"Should..."

"yeah... hence why i'm asking you to test it."


As Amoroth and Rose made their way to the armory, they ran into the other Amoroth clone. this one was carrying a man sized trunk.

"Here's the armor, and Sarah is on her way." the shadow replied before dissipating.

"Well let have a look" Rose said as amoroth looked at he trunk longingly.

he then undid the clasps and valves that kept the suit inside and pressurized. there was a loud hiss as the pressurized air escaped the case.

Amoroth teared up at the sight of it. the engineers had out done themselves.

"You see I am a, Hmm how to put this without getting my throat ripped out"

"Your not helping yourself by saying things like that.." Alexia said bluntly.

"Right well, I'm a contracted Speed Demon..." Benjamen said pretty bluntly with a shrug.

"Alright, two more questions...One, what is a Speed Demon like yourself living in Japan for?"

"Oh, the man I am contracted too is currently in charge there..He is a nice guy...I guess...I would be a bit less biased if I was not basicly a slave."

"Two...why are you here?"

"I am looking for a five foot four, auburn haired bastard known as Mooch..See him recently?"

"Might I suggest we increase our pace?" Rose said after a bit Amoroth shook his head refocusing. "We have other engagements to take care of after this, so I'd very much appreciate it if we at least got started."

"Right, right." he replied chuckling.



"No I have not seen him personally, however I know who's he with, the Hell-Hunters if you want to even speak with him you'll have to deal with them." She replied casually. She waved a hand and the Guard left. "Relax Ben, if you don't mind me calling you that. Mooch will not leave the Hell-Hunters for a while yet we have time to...converse." She said Motioning for him to get out of his kneeling state. She obviously wanted to talk to him a bit longer.

As Amoroth was about to open the door to the armory, Sarah came around the corner with the last clone which dissipated once the real one as in view.
"So that's the armor you want me to test out?" she asked looking impressed at with the craftsmanship and look of the Suit.

"Indeed it is... now there should be a spandex body suit. you'll need it, if you're gonna wear the armor." Amoroth replied with a grin.

Sarah then got a look of rage on her face. "Oh hell no!" she replied her face red with a mix of anger and embarrassment.

"I was joking" Amoroth replied. "I'll help you get it on then we'll move out." he said looking at rose to let her know he was serious.


After about five minutes of putting on the armor and explaining it's functions and how to activate it's flight mode.

"And that's about the gist of it" Amoroth finished as he slid Ageless into it's scabbard.

"And where's your suit?" Sarah asked skeptically.

"Still in production... now how does the armor feel?"

"A little heavier than what i usually wear" Sarah replied, as she flexed and moved her arms.

"Well yeah... all you wear is the clothes you have, it's gonna be heavy."

"Hell hunters.....I assume thats the pack that the Hellion leads?...I belive my master said somthing about them..." Benjamen muttered standing up.
"And what would you like to talk about madam?" Benjamen asks, "I am not sure I can provide good information, I am kept out of the loop on purpose...I hate my job"

Alexia grinned and approached Benjamen. She cracked her neck relaxing now that no one else was here to see her and licked her lips.

"I just need general information, stuff a demon like yourself should find hard to get access to. I need to know Japan's position simple as that. There is a war comming and I'm sure that the officials know the situation isn't getting better."


"Besides you'll be under going training soon anyways the weight's you'll be wearing will be much heavier than that So be glad this is so light." Rose said smiling at Sarah's face. They haven't moved out yet and weren't planning on using any known roads. Amoroth's parents were smart keeping the fort away from others decreased it's chance of being raided. "Now if you are quiet finished, may I suggest pressing on wards? Or perhaps, do you two need more time? If that's the case I'll be more than happy to scout ahead." Rose said as she thought about it the was also a downside as the chance of being raided went down so did the chance of rescue. An issue that probably didn't occur to anyone until it was too late. "Well, Shall I?"
